Gerakan 'kowtow' to UMNO, again!

Gerakan has suspended its Federal Territory State Committee Chairman Dr Tan Kee Kwong for accepting an appointment of the Selangor state government to head a taskforce on land matters.

It clearly shows that Gerakan 'kowtow' to UMNO again. If Gerakan, in the aftermath of General Elections, still has to 'kowtow' to UMNO even lost terribly to opposition parties, including DAP and PKR, then Gerakan deserves to be another UMNO's puppet party.

Dr Tan Kee Kwong's brave and wise move should be commended. At least, he has proved himself as 'the true son of Dr Tan Chee Khoon'. His father was a major figure in Malaysian politics from 1959 to 1978, at one point being nicknamed as "Mr Opposition" for the outspoken views he presented in Parliament.

When I was journalist from 2001 to 2005, I haven't got chance to cover his news even though he was the deputy minister of land and cooperative development until 2004 General Elections. I have met him quite a lot of times in Parliament, but to me, he is not so an impressive guy.

However, with his latest move, I think he has regained some respect from me. I salute you, Dr Tan Kee Kwong! Let us fight for a better tomorrow for Malaysia even though without Gerakan on Malaysian political landscape.

Gambateh!!!

Let's look at the facts.
If you work for company A, chances are that you cannot work part time for company B who is a competitor of company A as this will contravene the Business Conduct of the employee. I am sure if you are running company A, you MAY have taken the same action especially if your staff is working for a competitor.

On the hindsight, don't you think Gerakan did Pakatan a favor by suspending TKK ? Pakatan will have limitation in sharing confidential information with TKK if he is still a Gerakan member and will put Pakatan in a difficult position and jeopardize the execution of the land related plan.

It is always easy to pass a judgement but difficult to understand the reasons from the other side of the fence.
