DAP-PKR reach agreement on allocation of seats in Penang for next polls

Democratic Action Party and Parti Keadilan Rakyat have reached agreement on the allocation of parliamentary and state assembly seats for Penang to ensure one to one fight against Barisan Nasional in the coming general elections, expected in less than 70 days.

A joint media conference by leaders of both parties was held today in Penang to announce the details. DAP will contest 7 parliamentary seats including Bagan, Bukit Mertajam, Batu Kawan, Tanjong, Jelutong, Bukit Bendera and Bukit Gelugor.

DAP also will contest 19 state seats including Sungai Puyu, Bagan Jermal, Bagan Dalam, Berapit, Padang Lallang, Perai, Jawi, Padang Kota, Komtar, Pengkalan Kota, Sungai Pinang, Batu Lanchang, Datok Keramat, Pulau Tikus, Tanjong Bungah, Ayer Puteh, Ayer Itam, Seri Delima and Paya Terubong.

DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng, Parliamentary Opposition Leader Lim Kit Siang, DAP Penang Chairman Chow Kon Yeow and PKR De-Facto Leader Anwar Ibrahim were present in the press conference.
